Activities of UNDP at District Level

1) The District Disaster Management Committee has been formed with Sri R.K. Das, ADC Dhemaji as Nodal Officer.
2) The District Disaster Team have been formed.
3) 50 Nos. of items uploaded at the IDRN website.
4) Training of Teachers on school safety and disaster preparedness completed
5) Distribution of posters and leaflets by volunteers on Do's and Donot's on disaster.
6) Training of District Master trainers by trained personnel.
7) Art Competition among the students on Natural Disaster Reduction day was held, 29th Oct.
8) Cycle rally was arranged by the volunteers on Natural Disaster Reduction day.
9) Training of NSS volunteers by Fire and Red cross personnel.
10) Formation of Disaster Management Cell at Dhemaji College

Activities of UNDP at Block Level
1) Formation of Block Disaster Management Committee at all the 5 blocks
2) Training of Block Master Trainers.
3) Selection of NGOs to carry out the training programme at grass root level.
4) Training of volunteers on first aid, rescue and carcass disposal by trained personnel.
5) Traing of Panchayati Raj Institutions on disaster preparedness.
6) Formation of Block Disaster Management Team at 3 Blocks.


Activities of UNDP at Gaon Panchayat Level
1) Formation of Gaon Panchayat Disaster Management Committees, 62 out of 65 Panchayat Completed.
2) Formation of Gaon Panchayat Disaster Teams completed at 5 Gaon Panchayat
3) Training of GP Volunteers on first aid and rescue by block master trainers.
4) Panchayat Mitigation plan going on at 3 Blocks.
5) Training of Panchayati Raj Institutions in Disaster Management.


Activities of UNDP at Village Level
1) Formation of VDMC completed in 112 Villages.
2) Training of Task force member on first aid & search and rescue going on.
3) Village mapping and inventory preparation completed in 112 villages.
4) Training of women participants on shelter management by Anganwadi workers.
5) Selection of SHG's for quick response during any disaster.


Teachers Training
Teachers training was completed in the DRDA Training Hall. The participants were from all the Educational Block. It was organised by the District Elementary Education Department and UNDP. The training of the teachers wwas imparted by the experts from Home Guard and NGO master trainers. They were explained on school safety and preparedness for any emergency. Later on they were given training on rescue and first aid.

Selection of flood Sector Officers
Four to five Officials are selected from each block as Sector Officers. They are responsible for passing on any emergency message at the time of flood. Their names and contact no. have been given to all the GP Secretaries and Presidents for contact or passing on any news.

Blood Donors
A group of NSS Volunteers have been formed as blood donor under Dhemaji college. Their names and address are given for any contact during emergency.
